527…

The Knee in the groin of McCain Feingold

Written by JB Williams

Half of America’s voting population opted out of self-governance years ago because they came to believe that their voice would never be heard above the megaphone of [special interest] in Washington.

Years of effort went into writing and passing legislation intended to remove all [special interest soft money] from the process, culminating in what we now know as McCain Feingold, that bipartisan piece of campaign finance reform legislation signed into law a couple years ago.

Candidate “two John’s” made famous their stump line “We’re comin’, your goin’, don’t let the door hit you on the way out”, a little campaign stump false bravado intended to convince average voters that they want, and would run [special interests] out of town by sundown, if elected.

However the facts tell quite a different story (as is normally the case with these guys). Though the “two John’s” are in a dead heat with President Bush in the polls, when it comes to [political] prostitution, the “two John’s” make Heidi Fleiss look like Mother Teresa, (and I don’t mean Heinz).

It turns out that McCain Feingold did nothing more than force the DNC to become more creative in how they funneled [special interest] money into the election. Of the top 50 (527) and (501) political action organization, 37 of them were formed to funnel soft money to the Kerry/Edwards DNC campaign, 4 are “single issue” organizations, and 9 were recently established to support the Republican ticket in response to the onslaught of [soft money] Bush bashing.

Aside from an estimated $100 million in free help from Michael Moore’s shlockumentary, as of August 15, 2004, (according to IRS filings), Kerry/Edwards are the proud beneficiaries of roughly 88.5% of all [soft special interest money], some $186 million dollars thus far in the campaign, while Bush’s [special interest] funding amounts to a poultry 8.4%, a mere $17.5 million.

As if that isn’t bad enough, almost 18% of that huge DNC sludge fund is provided courtesy of three individuals, Peter Lewis, George Soros and Steven Bing, who have collectively spent a reported $33.4 million to date in an unprecedented attempt to single handedly overthrow the Bush administration by buying the Whitehouse for John Kerry.

Another 27% of DNC sludge money comes from Unions, most notably those Unions that represent government workers, in other words, those people who depend entirely upon the growth of government spending for their livelihood.

For the record, the only 527 of any concern to Kerry/Edwards, (Swift Boat Captains for Truth) doesn’t even come close to making the list. (Though that is likely to soon change)

We have heard the DNC’s calls to silence these Swift Boat Captains loud and clear, but we have not heard a peep from the DNC, John Kerry, John Edwards, John McCain or Russ Feingold, calling for the silencing of the 527’s that will funnel an unconscionable 300 to 500 million in soft money into the Kerry/Edwards campaign by election time. The reason is obvious….

Clearly, without [special interest soft money], there wouldn’t be a Kerry/Edwards ticket.

Fact is the Bush re-election campaign is funded almost entirely by individual voter contributions, mostly under $200. per, and within the $2000. maximum allowed by campaign laws, as it should be.

Fact is, John Kerry’s bid for the Whitehouse is almost entirely funded by [special interest soft money] via 527 and 501 organizations, funded predominantly by three shady individuals and a few unions representing mostly government employees.

Fact is, the single largest contributing sector for Kerry is trial lawyers, while the single largest group behind Bush is retirees.

Fact is, if Kerry and Edwards manage to buy the Whitehouse with a little help from their billionaire and Hollywood friends, it will mark the first time in American history that the Whitehouse has been bought entirely with [special interest soft money].

Not exactly what John McCain and Russ Feingold had in mind, or is it? I’m amazed how silent the two have been on the topic. Maybe they are still speechless from receiving such a knee in the groin from the DNC and the Kerry campaign.

What a wonderful campaign its generating too, 527 hate ads from both sides exhibiting unrestrained mud slinging bringing the campaign process to a whole new gutter level never before imagined.

What Kerry and Edwards fail to understand is, it’s not this mud slinging that will ultimately control the outcome of the election. No amount of special interest hate money can over-power the voice of the people when they decide to speak with their vote.

This election isn’t about John Kerry vs. George Bush. It’s about George Bush and the American electorate vs. Peter Lewis, George Soros and Steven Bing. These three men are attempting to use their billions to affect the outcome of an election that will affect almost 290 million American’s and the free world as we know it.

It’s about fat Union bosses and government employees dependent on bloated government growth vs. the American people who get the honor of picking up the tab for that growth.

War, terrorism, the economy, morality, jobs; they are all good reasons to vote.

But if this story won’t get you to the polls in November, nothing will!

Will History Repeat Itself, Again?

Written by JB Williams

George H. Bush lost his bid for re-election in 1992 as a direct result of one fatal error in judgment. He was elected to his first term by a good margin, was high in the popularity polls following his success of the Gulf War, only to lose re-election shortly there after.

His fatal error was to succumb to pressure from Democrats to increase taxes late in his first term, a clear violation of what would soon become a famous “read my lips” DNC campaign slogan.

When it comes to great politicians, Democrats clearly have the upper hand. (Of course that is only a compliment to those who like politicians). Bill Clinton (being the quintessential politician of modern times) was able to capitalize on the Bush error by proceeding to successfully divide the conservative electorate over the issue, running on the mantra “the era of BIG government is over”, stolen from an old Reagan speech.

While Clinton did not pick up those conservative votes that departed Bush, Ross Perot (who ran as a fiscal conservative) did, and Clinton won the White House twice as a direct result, in each case with less than 47% of the popular vote.

The DNC [political] maneuvering circa 2004 is right out of the Clinton playbook.

The 2004 election should be a cake walk for George W. Bush, his economic plan is working, he’s thus far kept America safe from a second round of attacks, and he has liberated 50 million people in the Middle East who have never known liberty. More importantly, roughly 5 out of 10 voters in America are registered Republican compared to only about 3.5 of 10 being registered Democrats today, and dropping.

But history could in fact repeat itself. Democrats have once again stacked the deck to divide the conservative electorate, while the DNC is more united than ever. Mind you, they are in no way united behind John Kerry, just united in opposition to George W. Bush.

But similar to Bush the senior, W. has now succumb to democrat pressure relative illegal immigrants, prescription drugs for senior citizens, growing government, and now, allowing outside monitoring of the US election to appease 13 Democrats in the house who insist we are no longer able to self-govern without help from the outside world.

All of these issues are making conservatives weak in the knees. While Kerry is not likely to gain any votes as a result, (as indicated by the lack of bounce from his convention), some conservatives are threatening to either vote for another (Perot) third party candidate (which amounts to a protest vote against Bush), or stay home all together November 2nd in protest to all available options.

Democrats are winning the [political] war in nearly each battle, not because they are right, but because they can’t lose.

If Bush had not passed a prescription drug bill for seniors, Democrats would have shown images of Bush throwing little old ladies in wheel chairs down the stairs. Because he did pass it, he is at odds with fiscal conservatives, and Democrats claim he didn’t do enough. Either way, the deck was stacked in favor of Democrats [politically].

If Bush had not dealt with the growing problem of illegal immigrants, (or dealt with it harshly), Democrats would be showing clips of him dragging Mexicans chained to the back of a pickup. Since he did address it, it puts him again at odds with conservatives concerned with our borders, and again, Democrats claim he didn’t address it correctly. Of course, “correctly” would have been that means which delivered Mexican votes to the DNC.

Even when the Bush administration recently announced specific terror threats aimed at New York and DC, Democrats rushed their useful “loose canon” Howard Dean out to accuse the Bush administration of inventing the entire terror threat thing as a campaign ploy. But had they not made the announcement, those who know the threat was NOT a Karl Rove invention (including Kerry), would have come out accusing Bush of having real information, and not reacting to it.

On the Patriot Act, congress almost unanimously voted in favor of the bill that would allow the US to better track and root out terrorists in the homeland. But once the bill passed, they again accuse Bush of enacting legislation that threatens the individual liberties of average Americans. It’s not true of course, and they all voted for it, including Kerry and Edwards, but it sure plays well from the stump.

In the case of Iraq, Democrats accuse Bush of lying to go to war, even though every last one of them made the exact same case against Hussein repeatedly for years before and during the Bush administration. Even though Bush listed more than a dozen reasons for regime change in Iraq, (made the formal US policy on Iraq established during the Clinton administration for all the same reasons), Democrats and the liberal media heard only one of those reasons listed, WMD.

Why? Because generally speaking, (as Kerry confirms now in his campaign rhetoric), anti-war liberals require extraordinary reasoning for use of military force, and in the case of Iraq, they chose to hear WMD as that reason. The liberal media then limited reporting of Bush’s reasoning from a dozen reasons, down to that one, and when stock piles of nuclear warheads were not immediately found, the liberal left went ballistic throwing the blame to Bush who never once used the term “imminent” threat.

Ex-Clinton spin genius Lanny Davis wrote a book on these [political] gorilla warfare tactics. We are now watching these tactics in use as the DNC once again wins the [political] war aimed at dividing the conservative electorate in order to secure a Kerry victory.

Since few in America have ever read Lanny’s book describing these “Clintonian” tactics, many American’s, including conservatives are left to wonder.

Now you realize, none of this has anything to do with reality, only the [political] wrangling for votes. In every case, Bush has done the right thing, in some cases, the only thing. But how it plays from the stump will determine the outcome of his re-election bid.

As a result, history may in deed repeat itself. If many real conservatives go third party, or stay home on Election Day, history will repeat itself. It’s classic Machiavelli 101; it’s “triangulation” of the issues.

The GRAND PRIZE up for grabs is the White House, but not just the White House… Also, the future of America, as well as Iraq, Afghanistan, the UN, the EU power grab and true conservative American values.

If conservatives allow themselves to be divided by these tactics, causing them to jump ship from the Republican Party as they did in 92 and 96, they will once again find themselves governed by people and policies they have spent a lifetime fighting against.

One thing is certain, either George W. Bush or John Kerry is going to be the next President of these United States. Contrary to popular belief, that decision does not rest in the hands of Bush haters united, or really even in the hands of that shrinking group of swing voters, but rather in the hands of America’s conservative majority.

Divided, they will likely fall, but united, there will be no need for a recount anywhere.

Kerry Cries Foul…

Written by JB Williams

©2004-08-05

John Kerry’s lucky number (527) may turn out to be the unluckiest number he has ever seen, and he’s got no one to blame but himself.

The campaign finance reform that passed into law a couple years ago aimed to eliminate soft money from the campaign process, (that money that comes with lots of strings, but no names and no restrictions). The DNC and the Kerry camp wasted no time circumventing that new law with 527 organizations like MoveOn.org, and questionable soft money peddlers like Peter Lewis, George Soros and Steven Bing rushed in with millions in funding.

The list of 527 contributors reads like a who’s who of soft money managers recently kicked out of the system by McCain Feingold. In no time at all, the fox was back in the henhouse and Kerry was in the race.

As long as it was anti-Bush sleaze machines (funded by some of the worlds shadiest characters), and they were producing ad campaigns, e-mail blitzes and cheap movies bashing Kerry’s opponent with baseless propaganda, Kerry felt like he had stumbled into the mother load of campaign sludge funds.

However, once Bush supporters were rejected by the FEC and the courts, in their efforts to block the hijacking of the election by 527’s, Bush and his supporters were left with no choice but to answer back with a few 527’s of their own.

Now that the organization “Swift Boat Captains for Truth” has formed its own 527, funded and produced their own ads telling their version of the Kerry “war hero” story, candidate Kerry cries foul and sends his legal attack dogs out to threaten TV stations set to air the ad.

A letter dated August 5, 2004, appearing to be signed by both General Counsel for Kerry/Edwards and General Counsel for the DNC, (posted on the web along with a copy of the ad at (http://humaneventsonline.com.edgesuite.net/unfit_pdf.html), was (reportedly) faxed to TV stations scheduled to run the ad in key markets. In the letter, Kerry’s legal beagles attempt to intimidate station managers into canceling the ad by implying that the stations will be held legally accountable for the objectionable content in those ads.

The letter alleges that the ads by the veterans group is full of lies, but if telling the truth is a prerequisite for campaign materials, then none of Kerry’s 527’s can qualify either.

When the Kerry campaign was caught working too close with MoveOn.org, they swiftly hired the head mud-slinger from MoveOn to the Kerry campaign staff to solve the appearance of impropriety. But I don’t see the Bush team scrambling to hire anyone in order to cover up anything the vet’s group is doing.

Democrats are screaming foul across the country hoping to squelch these veterans Right to tell their story. But I have not noticed any Democrats screaming about the outrageous and unfounded claims made by MoveOn, or Joint Victory Campaign 2004, or America Coming Together, or Media Fund, all Kerry 527’s engaged in unregulated Bush bashing on Kerry’s behalf.

Combined, these anti-Bush 527’s have raised and are spending more than $100 million in soft money in 2004 to defeat Bush by any means necessary, and the FEC and the courts have chosen to look the other way.

As predicted by many, this election is going to be the nastiest in history. But Kerry and the DNC need to realize that if they are going to utilize any soft money loophole available in the law to promote their agenda, (no matter how unethical it might be), Bush and his supporters have every Right to do the same in response.

More importantly, if a socialist slob like Michael Moore or a team of high-tech hate mongers like MoveOn have a Right to their opinion, then surely, Kerry’s fellow Vietnam War veterans have a right to theirs. These folks paid for our Rights of free speech with their sacrifices, so who (besides John Kerry) would have the unmitigated gall to tell them to shut up?

This is a perfect example of Kerry’s America. Free speech is alive and well in Kerry’s world, as long as that speech suits Kerry….

It must be stated that Kerry and the DNC created this two headed monster themselves.

What did Kerry expect from those men he referred to as “war criminals” 30 years ago? What did he expect when he made his service the center piece of his candidacy? And let’s face it, the DNC spent four prime time nights last week on four overly impressive months of Kerry’s life, if that ain’t a center piece, I don’t know what is…

What did Kerry and the DNC expect when they welcomed supportive 527’s to do their dirty work, which allowed Kerry to claim the campaign high ground, “above the fray”, or at least below radar? What did the DNC expect when they sent a team of lawyers to defend the new method of allowing soft money back into the process? What did Terry McAuliffe expect when he attacked Bush’s military service, again?

This is the big leagues boy’s and girls, and we are playing for all the marbles. As the saying goes, “Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight”.

If Kerry and the DNC want to stick a cork in Michael Moore and all the Kerry 527’s, I imagine Bush would be happy to denounce efforts by the Vet’s against Kerry to sway public opinion.

Otherwise, we should let them all have their say and let the public decide who to believe.

The Fundamental Flaws…

That should cost Kerry the election!

Written by JB Williams

©2004-08-02

I watched the DNC convention last week, in particular, the Kerry, Edwards and Clinton speeches, which set the tone for the entire Democratic platform. Overall, I was impressed by the dog and pony show. Clinton was classic Clinton, (without the pressure of the hot-seat), Edwards was a classic (trial lawyer), reigned in a bit so as not to overshadow the generally monotone John Kerry, and I thought John Kerry himself gave the performance of his life. So what’s the problem?

It would require a book to address all of the flaws individually, but it really all comes down to fundamental flaws in the Party platform and the Party ticket headed by John Kerry. It comes down to, regardless of how good the performance, in the end, it was just a performance.

First and foremost, the speeches were all professionally written to sound very American, very patriotic, respecting and supportive of real American values, God and country and all. But the platform itself is far from American. Much of their platform sounds very American, until you dig a little deeper. Take a moment to compare current DNC philosophy and ideology with the group that originated the idea of “One America”, and then read about the folks who started the “Take Back America” movement, and why they started it. Still not convinced? Then read where the “Anybody but Bush” movement began, and why.

The second potentially fatal flaw is the complete lack of consistency between campaign promises and Kerry’s Senate record. Not only is his Senate voting record very anti-military, anti-economic growth, and very anti-national security and sovereignty, but it is also void of any effort to advance those issues he has talked about for 20 years.

For those not paying attention in class, congress makes laws, not Presidents. The most powerful house in congress is the Senate, and John Kerry has been one of the most powerful Senators in the US for going on 20 years now. For all his bluster on healthcare for all, supporting the military and national security, the fact is, he has done absolutely nothing with the 20 years of opportunities he’s already had.

He has been absent for almost 90% of his Senate job in the last year, he even missed 38 of 49 intelligence hearings (pre-911) during his tenure on the committee, and never once offered to return his unearned paycheck or let someone more interested take over. Not only is this a problem for someone wanting to be President, this is a problem for anyone wanting to keep his job as Senator.

His side kick John Edwards is no better. He too has missed more than 80% of his job, only accepting the offer for second-in-command with Kerry because his short political career had already ended. Support in his home state of North Carolina had eroded so badly that he gave up on the thought of a second term, and wasn’t even running. So of course he was available when Kerry called, he was unemployed!

Last but by no means least, the third fatal flaw is their fundamental misunderstanding of the world and the war on terrorism, which manifests itself in a lack of Senate leadership over the years on Intelligence, Military, Terrorism, and National Defense. Kerry demonstrated a lack of understanding once again Thursday night when he said “America should never go to war because we want to, only when we have to”.  Translated, that means no “pre-emptive” strikes, no action without approval from the UN and France, and only after we have been attacked. (A “reactionary” policy that would prove very costly in today’s world).

He is on record stating his core belief that our Military should only be deployed at the direction of the UN. His Party is requesting (third world) UN oversight of the 2004 US election, showing their loyalty and trust is in the UN, not the US. Despite public knowledge of the Oil for Profits scandal threatening the future of the UN, France, Germany and Russia, he insists that he will negotiate peace with these fair weather friends who deserted America in our hour of need, opting instead to profit by protecting the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein. These are NOT the kinds of friends we need, and we certainly don’t need to negotiate to get them.

Those who want the truth about John Kerry’s understanding of the world and the war on terror should take 10 minutes to watch this film of Kerry’s position [s] on Iraq. According to other Kerry statements, the US should not have been in any war except the revolutionary war, the civil war, and WWII, since all other Military deployments were not wars that America “had” to fight, by his definition.

Presidential candidate Kerry say’s our young men and women are fighting in Iraq for no valid reason at all, as a result of being “mislead” by their Commander-in-Chief, something quite different from what Senator Kerry said. My friends on the left think our young men and women are dying to defend their Right to burn the flag these soldiers serve under, or call their Commander-in-Chief a “liar” before the world, including our enemies.

But every soldier I have spoken with in the last three years has quite a different reason for fighting. These brave young men and women will continue to tolerate people who want to burn their flag or malign their Commander-in-Chief, but this isn’t why they fight, not even close. They wake up and go to sleep thinking about those lost in New York, at the Pentagon, and in that Pennsylvania field.

Nobody wants to die, but thank God some are willing. Nobody likes war but contrary to the socialist drivel too common in our country today, sometimes we have to fight abroad in order to not have a war here. We didn’t start this war, but we do intend to finish it.

Kerry, Edwards and the DNC would like to have it both ways, complaining about not pre-empting 9/11, as though anyone could have on completely inadequate information, and at the same time complaining about pre-empting Iraq and the potential for an event worse than 9/11 on twelve years of information.

This represents their biggest flaw of all. They look out at a crowd of jubilant unsuspecting dedicated Bush haters, and assume that these folks represent America, just as they hope you will assume that the handful of soldiers they rounded up for the party in Boston, represents the support of Kerry’s fellow soldiers. But just like his real “band of brothers”, 20 out of 23 of who oppose Kerry for President, real American’s will stand and vote against him in November as well.

He can count on his core following of socialists, Bush haters, and secularists, all of them. But as is indicated by the zero bounce from the convention, that’s all he can count on.

Kerry had a career performance last week, but the vast majority of American’s seem to see it for what it is, only a performance. Bush haters everywhere unite behind Kerry, but informed Americans will reject his socialist plan for America, and his idea that we could or should negotiate with terrorists, brutal regimes, or even old friends turned crooks, like France.
