Every candidate for the highest office in the land released all pertinent personal records in compliance
with custom and election laws during the primaries, including signing DOD form 180 authorizing the full release of their
military records. Everyone but John Kerry that is…
Though liberals worked around the clock in search of any scrap of evidence they could dig up or invent that
would degrade Bush’s Guard service, they remained silent concerning Kerry’s stonewalling on the release of his military
records. Many of us, who have researched the matter, suspect there is good reason for concealing those records…
Finally, long after the election is over, NBC Meet the Press host Tim Russert mustered the courage
to confront Kerry on the matter, asking not once, not twice, but three times if Mr. Kerry would now sign DOD form 180
authorizing the release of his full military record. On third pass, Kerry finally, void of any more room to run, begrudgingly
agreed that he would sign the form.
Throughout his 2004 Presidential bid, Kerry and his minions repeatedly told the American people that his record
was public, posted on his campaign web site, in other words, they lied. Not once throughout the entire campaign did a single
member of the once “mainstream” press [including Russert] ask the most obvious question…why was Kerry the only candidate not
to have signed DOD form 180?
In fairness, that’s in part because throughout his campaign, Kerry avoided open Q & A sessions with the press like
Had he melted quietly back into the scenery of his lack-luster Senate career, he might have gotten away with
it. But two things were very obvious in Sunday mornings’ Meet the Press exchange. Kerry remains as committed as ever to
undermining the work of our brave soldiers in Iraq, and Russert is now in a position to ask the BIG question without fear
of reprisal, making how ever many passes it took to finally get the appropriate answer.
The exchange was very telling… Clearly frustrated by
Russert’s determination to get answers to some very uncomfortable questions, Kerry reluctantly agreed to sign the form, and
offered unacceptable excuses for his national security and foreign policy positions that have wondered all over the spectrum.
It would appear that the time has finally arrived when the American people may actually get the information they
were entitled to before the election.
Of course, I would not hold my breath waiting for the document to actually be signed, even though he made a
very public commitment to do just that. After all, Senator Kerry is well known for skating on his commitments, known for
his ability to blend into the background when it suits him most.
During his campaign, his honor and integrity was impugned daily by his fellow decorated Veterans, former POWs and
fellow statesmen. While demonizing his accusers was an effective strategy for blind Bush-haters united, it only served to
raise more questions from thinking people, those who already had doubts about Kerry’s suitability for office.
Today, even his biggest financial supporter, Hungarian billionaire George Soros admits he mistakenly bet
his $26 million on a horse headed for the glue factory.
The American people have a right to know who they almost elected though, and they never will know without
the release of his full record. Many have taken matters into their own hands, signing
a petition demanding the release of his records.
Hopefully, now that Russert has done the heavy lifting on the topic, other members of the press will follow up
at every opportunity until that form is signed and the public is able to see all of what was so desperately protected, the
real John Kerry hero story…
If Kerry does not follow through on his commitment to Russert, it will only serve to confirm what many of us
already believe, that there is damning information in those records.
The sad part is, 48% of Americans either believed that his records were already public, or that they don’t
matter. Either way, these folks owe it to the rest of us to do a better job of vetting their candidates…
I urge all Americans who want to know the truth about a man almost elected President to visit the petition site
linked above, and join in the effort to see to it that no politician can run for the highest office in our land, while
concealing his past…
Before Senator Kerry and his minions make one more demand for Bush to “come clean” concerning Iraq, they
better air their own dirty laundry and cleanse themselves of their ill-fated attempt to hoodwink the American people
with a candidate still running from his past…
Meanwhile, someone needs to ask Tim Russert why he waited until after the election to ask the most obvious
question of the campaign…
To answer those who will wonder why people like me won’t let a sleeping dog lie, it’s because the
dog and all its fleas are in our US Senate, and he ain’t quietly sleeping…
